Susie Pauline Taylor

          PEACHLAND – On Thursday, January 12, 2023, Mrs. Susie Pauline Taylor, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior while being cared for at her home with her family gathered by her bedside.

            Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Peachland Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Lynn Garris and Rev. Jean Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Peachland Cemetery.

            The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.

            Susie was born January 7, 1942 in Anson County, NC and was a daughter of the late John Winfred Taylor and the late Elgie Pauline Garris Taylor. She had a varied career life to include, Roses Five and Dime Store in Wadesboro in her younger years, Ballet Hosiery, Holly Farms, Wingate University and retiring from Anson Shirt Factory.

            She was a long-time member of Peachland Gospel Tabernacle where she has served as a Sunday school teacher and often helped in the kitchen cooking for church events.

            She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 62 years, 4 months and 20 days, Jerry Taylor; her children, Sherry Wallace (Bubba) and Lewis Taylor of Peachland; her granddaughters, Mallary Hanna (Zack) of Lilesville and Katie Taylor of Peachland; her great-grandchildren, Daniel, Allison, Charlotte and Loretta Hanna and Makaylee Hough; her brothers and sister, Winfred Taylor (Cynthia) of Concord, Jodie Haigler (Roy) of Locust and Gary Taylor (Joan) of Norwood; and  her sister-in-law, Jean Taylor of Peachland.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Wanda Brewer Taylor and her sister and brother, Josie Taylor and Bobby Taylor.

            Susie will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, often called on for alterations by her friends and family.

            Her family is most grateful to Community Home Care and Hospice for the care they have shown Susie and her family.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1198 Rockingham Rd, Rockingham, NC 28379.
