Born on December 2, 1946, Suzanne was a graduate of Wadesboro High School and continued her education at Wingate College. Her professional life was marked by dedication and versatility—she worked as a real estate broker before transitioning into a successful career as a relocation director for Royal Insurance and Paxton Van Lines.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Craig Jarman and Sara Williams Jarman.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Edward Horton, of Charlotte; son & daughter-in-law Craig & Erin Horton of Doylestown, Pennsylvania; son Brandon Horton of Raleigh, North Carolina;

her cherished grandchildren, Arden Horton and Riley Horton of Raleigh, and Amelia Horton of Doylestown; her sister, Victoria Jarman of Charlotte and her nephew Michael Keene of Marshall, North Carolina.

A woman of energy and determination, Suzanne found joy in many pursuits. She was an avid Bridge player and a loyal supporter of her children’s sports as they were growing up, a fan of the Charlotte sports teams and all of her grandchildren’s activities.

Her civic spirit shone through her long-standing volunteer work with the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections as a poll worker.

She enjoyed watching Poirot - Masterpiece on PBS and award shows—especially the Tonys and Kennedy Center Honors—and treasured trips to Asheville, New York City and Ocean Isle Beach.
