BISCOE - Mr. Sylvester Ingram, known by his family and friends as 'Rat' was born June 18, 1954 in Lilesville, North Carolina to the late Jim B. and Helen Ingram. He departed this life on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 60 years.
Sylvester attended public schools in Anson County and graduated from Bowman High School in 1972. He confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Savannah AME Zion Church in Lilesville.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife of 26years, Gloria Caple Ingram of the home; his children, Sylvester (Katy) Ingram of Badin, NC and Shenika (Carlos) Carbajal of Star, NC; three grandchildren, Carlos, Daniel and Briana; and his beloved dog, Chilly.
Also surviving are his brother and sisters, Rev. R.J. (Winnie) Ingram and Joyce (Dennis) Crowder both of Lilesville, NC, Susianna Smith of Hayward, CA and Josephine Smith of Greensboro, NC; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Forest and Annie Caple of Wadesboro, NC; his brothers-in-law, Thomas Rorie of Wadesboro, NC and Robert Caple of Greensboro, NC; his sisters-in-law, Catherine Ingram of Wadesboro, NC and Ann Whitley of Graham, WA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Grant Ingram, Weldon Lee Ingram, Pauline Baldwin, Blanche Rorie and Cherry Allen.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. R. J. Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah AME Zion Church Cemetery in Lilesville.
