Ted Mr. Teal

Wadesboro - Mr. Ted Teal, 75, died Saturday, October 26, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Mt. Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Byrd and Rev. Steve Eddins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Ted will lie in state at his home on Monday afternoon where the family will greet friends between 5:00 and 8:00PM. Ted was born in Anson County on July 25, 1938, a son of the late George Teal and Sam and Ruby Henry Gatewood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Broome Teal, who was the love of his life; his grandparents, Wilson and Ella Henry, whom he affectionately called 'Daddy' and 'Mama,' and a brother, Tony Teal. Ted worked most of his life as a carpenter who took great pride in building homes and completing carpentry work for people to enjoy. Family, friends and customers alike appreciated the fine quality of workmanship and the attention to detail Ted provided in his work. His greatest joy in life however, was caring for his family and enjoying his many friends and neighbors. He especially enjoyed the privilege of being a loving grandfather. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Tim Jenkins, Coco and Tim Sweatt, and Missy and Jamie Phifer all of Wadesboro, and Carla and Michael Freeman of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Travis Jenkins, Samuel Freeman and wife, Casey, Amanda Henry and husband Jamie, Sadie Freeman and fianc, Aaron Shaver, Ted Sweatt and Caleb Phifer; his great-grandchildren, Gretchen and Gracelyn Henry; and his siblings, Pat Dixon (M.B.) Godbold of Cheraw, SC, George (Lisa) Teal of Santa Clara, CA, Linda Teal (Gary) Waechter of Ft. Dodge, IA, and Mark Teal of Seneca, SC. Also surviving is a special niece and nephew, Tammy T. Bennett of Myrtle Beach, SC and Micah Teal of Wadesboro; a brother-in-law, Olin Broome and Martha; and a sister-in-law, Melba Martin of Lilesville. Memorials may be made to Mt.
