Wadesboro - Thomas Ray Hinson, 69, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM Thursday in Red Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Clements officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Wednesday evening at Leavitt Funeral Home.
Ray was born in Anson County on October 22, 1946, a son of the late Thomas Fredrick and Alice Bailey Hinson. He was retired from the Alltel Telephone Co. and as a poultry farmer though he still enjoyed being on the farm.
Survivors include his fianc, Tammy Phillips; two daughters, Melissa Forbes (Eric) of Wadesboro and Jessica Hogan (Todd) of Graham; four grandchildren, Bailey Forbes, Charlotte Forbes, Jackson Ray Forbes and Mattie Hogan; and a step-son, Cory Blanchette of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Also surviving is a brother, James Harold Jim Hinson (Ellen) of Wadesboro and a sister, Joyce H. Hardaway of Wadesboro. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Stewart Hinson, and a brother, Charles Hinson.
