On May 4, 2019 Thomasine Hinson departed this earthly life in Covington, Georgia. She was born to the late Mr. James Benjamin and Mrs. Minnie Clark Hinson in Wadesboro, North Carolina February 8, 1957.
She attended the public school system in Anson County and went on to earn her Bachelors of Social Work from North Carolina Central University. She received her certification as a Nurses Assistant from Durham Technical Community College. Dedication and persistence entitled her to Sergeant status at Central Prison in Raleigh NC.
Thomasine was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and special friend. Her compassionate love for her family was unconditional. She was always there for everyone constantly giving and being supportive. Thomasine will truly be missed. She loved cooking, traveling, cruising, and her dogs especially, Cassey and Cocoa.
Her beloved son, Willard Eugene Scott and sisters, Terry H. Watson, Barbara McKnight, and Julia Clemmons preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her tender memories sons: Kevin Little of the home; Asaad Scott of Grayson, Ga; Roderick Hinson (Annette) of Monroe NC; two sisters Gwendolyn H. Little (Jerry) of Monroe, NC; Vickie H. Pettway (Donald) of Kernersville NC; three brothers James L. Hinson(UnChu) of Polkton, NC; Raymond C. Hinson (Cheryl) of Polkton, NC; Phillip W. Hinson of Polkton, NC; one grandson Roderick Darnell Hinson Jr. (aka "Lil Rod") of Monroe, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
There will be no public viewing.
