POLKTON - Mr. Timothy Loyd McJunkin, 63, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro with Rev. Dennis Stegall officiating. Interment will follow in Rocky River Baptist Church Cemetery, Polkton. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, November 16, 2015 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Tim was born February 22, 1952 in Greenville County, SC a son of the late Hoovey Loyd McJunkin and the late Hazel Knight McJunkin Ray. He was retired from Marianna Health and Rehab Center in Marianna, FL as Maintenance Supervisor and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He and his wife moved back to North Carolina to be near family and fell in love with a country home and farm land in Polkton. After becoming a part of this loving community in just a few short months, they attended Rocky River Baptist Church and had plans to unite with this community of faith, as the Rocky River family took them in and embraced them as if they had been there a life time. Surviving are his wife, Janet Vaughn McJunkin of the home; their children, Timothy (Jenny) McJunkin of Manderville, LA, Kelly (Jeff) Weathersby of Hattiesburg, MS, Dana (Jason) Bonenberger of Monroe and Walter (Nicole) Matthews of Clarksville, FL; grandchildren, Anna, Adam, Alyssa, Shirri, Eliah, Eden, Cristian, Abbie and Catherine; his sisters, Kathy (Denny) Summerville of Central, SC and Nancy Martin of Dothan, AL and his step-mother, Anita McJunkin of Easley, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky River Baptist Church, 297 Rocky River Church Rd., Polkton, NC 28135. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
