Raeford - On July 4, 2021 Un Chu Lee YI Hinson departed this earthly life in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She was born to the late Sang Tae Yi and I Sun Kim in Inchon City, South Korea November 5, 1949.
Un Chu worked as a sewing machine operator at Chic Hosiery Mills and West Knitting in Wadesboro NC for over 10 years before the mills closed. She worked as trimmer at Cuddy Farms where she retired with over 15 years of dedicated service before coming ill. She accepted Christ at Lakeside Holiness Church in Wadesboro, NC before moving to Raeford, NC. She was a home maker for her loving daughter and grandchildren.
Un Chu was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister in law, and friend. She loved her family and always spending time with them. She was always there; constantly showing and giving support for all. She will truly be missed. She loved cooking, cleaning, traveling, bingo, All My Children, and Price is Right. Her beloved brother Un Suk YI, significant other John Byrd, sister in laws Terry H. Watson, and Thomasine Hinson preceded her in death.
Un Chu will be greatly missed by her family. She leaves to cherish her tender memories with her daughter; Maria Hinson, Raeford, NC; Ex Husband; James L. Hinson, Polkton, NC; Granddaughters; Shauntia Moore, Houston, TX; Jasmine Harrell, Fayetteville, NC; Jala Harrell, Raeford, NC; Grandson in law; Jerry Lattimore, Fayetteville NC, two sister in laws Gwendolyn H. Little of Monroe, NC; Vickie H. Pettway (Donald) of Kernersville NC; two brother in laws Raymond C. Hinson (Cheryl) of Polkton, NC; Phillip W. Hinson of Polkton, NC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Homegoing services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, July 10, 2021, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends during the viewing from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Public viewing will be Friday, July 9, 2021, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
