Vann Wiley Mr. Sims

Mr. Vann Wiley Sims, 60, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Brooks officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home. Vann was born in Chesterfield County, SC May 30, 1953 a son of the late Floyd Sims and Lydia Collins Sims Thomas and James 'Burt' Brady Thomas. He had worked as a carpenter in home construction for Charles 'Scrunchie' Mills and Larry Griggs. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Peggy Jarrell Sims of the home; his sons, Elvis Sims and Benji Oxendine both of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sims, Harmony Scarborough, Dylan Sims, Kristy Sims and Kaden Sims; his siblings, Joseph 'JW' William Sims, Shirley Sims Davis, David Warren Sims, Brenda Sims Stegall, Lonnie Dale Sims and James Thomas Sims. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Vann Sims; and seven siblings. Arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
