Virginia Sison Caranto Kendall

ANSONVILLE - Virginia Sison Caranto Kendall was born on April 16, 1963, to the late Geronimo and Emiliana Caranto in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. She peacefully entered eternal rest on July 28, 2023, at Atrium Health CMC Main in Charlotte, NC. 

Virginia grew up in Dau Mabalacat Pampanga, Philippines, and attended public school.  After high school, she learned to sew and earned her seamstress/tailor certification. June 04, 1991, Virginia, her daughter (Priscilla), and several family members left the Philippines and moved to the United States. She lived for many years in Crestview, Florida, and worked as a hotel housekeeper and at Perdue Farms. Virginia later moved to North Carolina with the love of her life and was united in holy matrimony to Dennis Dupree Kendall.  She worked at Wal-Mart in Albemarle, NC, for 15 years until her health declined.

Virginia enjoyed cooking, watching YouTube cooking channels, and various cooking shows. She often tried the recipes she watched and often got requests for her delicious homemade lumpia (eggrolls) and pancit (noodles). She loved music, dancing, laughing, watching movies (especially Phillipino movies), and spending time with her daughter.

She leaves to cherish her memories Dennis of the home, daughter Priscilla Tillman (JJ) of Wadesboro, NC, Dennis Kendall, Tavares Kendall (Jamie) of Crestview, Florida, LaShonda Robinson (Gus), and Gecoby Hailey of Wadesboro, NC.  Five sisters, Carmelita Caranto Bewley, Mercedes Ward (Dennis), Rosalinda Allan George, all of Crestview, Florida Purita Daluz, and Julieta Romero of the Philippines.

Grandchildren Kristen Steward (Malik), Marteshia Clark, Shayla Kendall, Nakayla Robinson, Daylen Kendall, Nolan Robinson, Precious Smith.  Great grands Milani and Zaire

Sisters-in-law Mittie Thomas, Lynn Davis (Lewis), Jennifer Kendall, Jan Kendall

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Rodolfo Caranto, Rogelio Caranto, Ricardo Caranto, and sister Patricia Caranto.  Brothers-in-law Felton Kendall and Dave Bewley and sister-in-law Vivian Kirkpatrick

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ansonville.

The viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.

The family will gathering at the home on  Ingram Street in Ansonville.
