Virginia Elizabeth Wright Mrs. Maness

POLKTON - Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Wright Maness, 84, died peacefully Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Ambassador Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Oakdale Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Griffin Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7:00pm until 8:30pm Friday, June 24, 2016 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Wadesboro. Virginia was born May 14, 1932 in Anson County, NC a daughter of the late Theo Clarence Wright and the late Ora Thelma Austin Wright. She was a graduate of Polkton High School and a 1953 graduate of Wake Forest Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and was a registered nurse, having retired with more than 25 years of service at Anson County Hospital. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Bunn of Indian Trail, Cathy Basham of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, Amy Cipau and husband, Gabriel of Raleigh and Gay Maness and husband, Mike Ignelzi of Greensboro; her grandchildren, Brooke and Claudia Basham of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Virginia and Atticus Ignelzi both of Greensboro; her brother and sisters, Bob Wright of Waycross, GA, Ann Moses of Nashville, TN and Linda Harrington of Polkton and her many nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Benjamin Maness, a son-in-law, and 8 siblings. Virginias family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the in-home caregivers, to both Hospice of Union County and Richmond County Hospice and Ambassador Health and Rehab for the loving and respectful care given to her.
