WADESBORO - Virginia Carolyn Vauss Smith was born June 16, 1956, in Anson County and was a daughter of the late Eula and Jimmy Vauss of Morven, NC. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Monroe Rehabilitation Center.
Virginia attended McCrae School of Morven, NC and she was a graduate of Bowman High School.
At an early age, she joined Ebeneezer Presbyterian church, where she was elected on the deacon board and helped with many programs until her health declined.
As a young adult, she entered the work force as a textile worker at West Knitting Mill and before retirement, she worked at Carolina Apparel in Wadesboro, NC.
Virginia cherished cats and most importantly loved her cat Snowball “Babes”. She was a very outgoing person who enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed many things, but her specialties involved cooking and baking special treats.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Lomax and Ora Vauss and her husband Joe David Smith.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Thomas Gaddy and one daughter Kimberly Gaddy of Wadesboro, NC; one nephew Reginald Lomax of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren Duanetta Gaddy, Shaquasia Burns, Chenoa Gaddy, Faith Gaddy, and Tajiri Gaddy; seven great grandchildren; a special cousin Pamela Henry and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Sunday, November 10, 2024, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Morven.
Public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the funeral home.
