Walter Franklin Bennett

2^nd Timothy 4: 7-8

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that “day:” and not to me only but unto all them also that love the appearing.

Mr. Walter Franklin Bennett, son of the late Benjamin Franklin Bennett and late Elizabeth Gaddy Bennett was born on March 15, 1953, in Wadesboro, North Carolina.  He answered the call for eternal life on Saturday afternoon, August 19, 2023.

He was known to many as “Frank.”  Frank confessed Christ at an early age and joined Garris Grove Missionary Baptist Church and graduated from Bowman High School Class of 1970.  He worked many years in Manufacturing, later retiring from Triangle Brick Company as machine operator.

Frank married Hattie Ruth Teal in 1981, lived in the Bethel Community of Wadesboro, NC. He loved riding his motorcycle, listening to music, dancing to his favorite songs, and watching his favorite TV shows Law and Order, General Hospital, Bonanza, and Gun Smoke.

He lives to cherish his precious memories: spouse, Hattie Ruth Teal Bennett of Wadesboro, NC; one daughter, Erica Renee Bennett of Wadesboro, NC; one son Demeur Franklin Bennett (aka Ken) of Greensboro, NC; three brothers: David Bennett(Linda) Charlotte, NC; Rev. Aaron Bennett(Brenda) Odenton, Maryland; and Robert Bennett(Janice) Lilesville, NC; five sisters:  Hattie Smith(Late Walter Smith) Mt. Gilead, NC; Linda Bennett( Tracey) Wadesboro, NC; Brenda Nivens( Rodney) Kernersville, NC; Vivian Bennett  Wadesboro, NC and Rosa Little Lilesville, NC.  And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 25, 2023 at Empowering Word Ministries. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Park.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church on Friday.

The public viewing will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Leavitt Funeral Home

The family is gathering at the home on Bethel Road in Wadesboro.
