Walter Dewey Junior Eddins, Jr

WADESBORO - Mr. Walter Dewey Junior Eddins, Jr., 85, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at Anson Health and Rehab in Wadesboro. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Brown Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Williams and Rev. D.W. Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church Thursday and other times at the home. Junior was born July 30, 1931 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Walter Dewey Eddins and the late Sarah Tyson Eddins. He was a 1950 graduate of Polkton High School and a longtime member of Brown Creek Baptist Church. He worked for many years with West Knitting Mills and following his retirement, he was a security officer with API Security. He was an avid blue grass music fan and enjoyed playing his guitar and was the oldest member of Woodmen of the World in Wadesboro for 75 years. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Rachel Johnson Eddins; his children, Dewey (Mary Lee) Eddins of Wadesboro and Glenda (Houston) Goodwin of Lilesville; his grandchildren, Steven (Holly) Eddins of Polkton, Chris (Melissa) Eddins of Wadesboro, Marvin Goodwin of Lilesville and Malinda (Speedy) Hatley of Albemarle; his great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jeremiah; and his sister, Frances (Rogers) Baucom of Wadesboro.
