Walter Jay Mr. Harris, Jr

WADESBORO - Mr. Walter Jay Harris, Jr., 73, died Monday, December 22, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Morven Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the funeral home. He was born August 5, 1941 in Chesterfield County, SC a son of the late Walter Jay Harris and the late Mary Harriett Deese Harris. He was a member of Calvary Crusade Church in Rockingham and was retired from Wade Manufacturing with more than 40 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Joyce Meachum Harris of the home; his children, Michael Harris of Rockingham, Donna Harris McCallum of Wadesboro and Teresa Harris Caulder of Concord; his grandchildren, Randy, Joshua, and Allen Brayboy, Nicholas, Caitlyn and Ashleigh Caulder and Camdyn Harris; and his great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob and Jessa Brayboy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William C. Harris and James Robert Harris. The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home.
