Wadesboro - Wanda Gibson Poe, 75, died Friday, January 04, 2013 at Hospice of Union County. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Monday, January 7, 2013 in Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Myers and Rev. Sammy Thomas officiating. The family will greet friends prior to services beginning at 11:00 AM. Wanda was born in Cherokee County, SC on March 26, 1937, a daughter of the late Hugh Gibson and Omie Leathers Gibson. She was retired from cotton textiles. Surviving are her children, Sandi (David) Moss of Monroe, Michael Burr of Hamlet, and Mark (Pam) Burr of Kings Mountain; her sister, Thelma Langley of Lexington and 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Burr; her brothers and sister, Ernest Gibson, Albert Gibson and Norma Lanning.
