WADESBORO - Mr. Wayne Garrett McIntyre, 75, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, August 3, 2014 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. John Beck officiating. Interment will follow in Anson Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Wayne was born April 5, 1939 in Anson County, NC a son of the late Roy Benton and Minnie Kistler McIntyre. He was retired from Pee Dee Electric with 33 years of service. He was an avid baseball fan and ball player and enjoyed his walks with his dog Bella.
Surviving are his wife 56 years, Joyce Horne McIntyre of the home; his children, Jan Cox of Pageland, SC, Mike (Dana) McIntyre of Monroe, Kim (Scott) Johnson of Mt. Croghan, SC and Tammy Nichols and fianc, Donnie Edwards of Wadesboro; his sister, Louise Caudle of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Joy Richardson, Carli Kreimer, Michael, Matthew and Garrett McInytre, Justin Meador, Jeremy and Ryne Johnson, Courtney Canipe, Trey and Tyler Nichols and Adam Edwards and his great-grandchildren, Jolei and Alynia Richardson, Carter McIntyre and Lane and Trinity Johnson. He is also survived by his faithful and loving dog, Bella.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Mary Baynard, Charles McIntyre and Pete James.
