RALEIGH - Mr. David Wayne Parker, 74, died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Services will be 2:00pm Sunday, December 8, 2019 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Anson Memorial Park. The family will greet friends following the service.. Wayne was born February 26, 1945 in San Diego, CA the son of the late David Cleveland Parker and the late Mary Bullock Parker. He attended Wadesboro Schools and graduated high school from Suwannee Military Academy. He received a Bachelors Degree from Lenoir Rhyne College. He worked as Vice President of Claims for Medical Mutual Insurance Company. Surviving are his wife Brownie Wall Parker; his children, Ashley Murphy and husband, Dan of New Bern, Jason Parker and wife, Cynthia of Lewisville and Grant Parker of Charlotte; his grandchildren, Danny, Parker and Rheagan Murphy and Ashlyn and Gabriel Parker. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 351, Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
