Peachland - Mr. Wayne Louis Taylor, 75, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe. Wayne was born May 10, 1942 in Gaston County, NC a son of the late Charlie Lee Taylor and the late Lizzie Mae Kiker Taylor. He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and a veteran of the United States Navy. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Judy Preslar Taylor of the home; son Kenneth Wayne Taylor of Peachland; daughter of the heart, Melissa Newsome of Concord; granddaughter of the heart, Danielle Jolly of Peachland; brothers and sister, Leroy Taylor of Dade City, FL, Charlie 'CL' Taylor, Jr. of Indian Trail and Evelyn Medlin of Norwood; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Baker of Monroe, Juanita Tidwell of Polkton, Sharon Walker of Marshville and Louise Grindstaff of Mint Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 or to American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave #100, Charlotte, NC 28207. At Wayne's request, he will be cremated with no services. No service information has been added.
