ROCKINGHAM - Mr. Wilbur Henry Moore, 74, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Jackson, Rev. Larry King and his son-in-law, Danny Hosler officiating. There will be a graveside service at 3:00pm Saturday in the Bethel Cemetery in Tyro outside of Lexington, NC. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Friday, February 12, 2016 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Wilbur was born December 30, 1941 in Moore County, NC a son of the late Jason Moore and the late Mollie Richardson Moore. He was retired from Wade Manufacturing Company with 23 years of service and he and his wife also owned and operated The Hair Shack in Wadesboro for more than thirty years. He attended barber school in 1965 and won many hairstyling competitions over the years, His greatest hairstyling accolade was winning second place in a national competition in California. He also taught hairstyling and even trained stylists in New York. Wilbur enjoyed gardening, beekeeping - being a member of both Anson and Richmond County Bee Keepers Associations, cutting hair and making music with his friends. He was a talented musician, having played in several bands and most recently The Hidden Talents and The Old Country and Gospel Band both in Anson County. He attended New Life Church in Wadesboro where he played and sang with the praise team. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Kaye Allen Moore of the home; his children, Tammy Hosler and husband, Danny of Farmer and Scott Moore and wife, Jessica of Coleridge; his grandchildren, Maleah Queen and husband, Chris of Randleman and Kayly Moore of Asheboro; his great-granddaughter, Kynsleigh Queen of Randleman and his brothers and sisters, H. B. Moore of Albemarle, Paul Moore and wife, Dina of Robbins, Ann Hurley of Greensboro and Ruth Cheek and husband, Glenn of Asheboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Hosler and sister, Margaret Overbey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Church, P.O.
