WADESBORO - Mr. William 'Bill' McLendon Hardison, Sr., 62, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at his home. There will be a memorial service at 6:00pm Friday, February 27, 2015 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating. The family will greet friends from 4:00pm until 5:45pm at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home on Brent St. Bill was born April 22, 1952 in Anson County, NC a son of Howze McLendon and Betty Hough Hardison. He was a graduate of Bowman High School and received an Associate's Degree from Wingate College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Wadesboro and had been employed with W.R. Bonsal Company in Lilesville until declining health. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening and simply being in the country. He also enjoyed writing and collecting knives and guns. Surviving are his wife, Selene Lowe Hardison of the home; his children, William McLendon Hardison, Jr. of Monroe, Lauren Ashley Hardison of Wadesboro and Marissa Hardison Thomas and husband, Michael of Polkton; his grandchildren, Waylen Hardison, Summer Hardison, Noah Ratliff, Christian Ratliff and Karson Thomas; his parents, Mac and Betty Hardison of Wadesboro; his brothers, Robert Braswell Hardison of Wadesboro and John Ashe Hardison of Vero Beach, FL; father-in-law, Spencer Lowe of Wadesboro; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Karen Lowe of Goldsboro and his faithful canine companion, Midnight. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Scholarship Fund, 118 E. Morgan St., Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to Anson County Writer's Club, P.O.
