William Tyson "Ty" Williamson

WADESBORO - On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, Mr. William Tyson "Ty" Williamson, 55, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health CMC Main in Charlotte, NC.

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at a later date in Anson Memorial Park.

Ty was born March 28, 1968 in Chesterfield County, SC and as a son of Sara Williamson Baker and the late Paul Tyson Caudle. He was a 1986 graduate of Anson High School and was employed with McCormick Fencing.

He enjoyed playing pop warner football as a youth and playing for the Anson Bearcats throughout his high school years. He also served with the North Carolina National Guard.

Those left with memories of Ty, are his children, Triston Williamson of Angier and Jonathan Williamson and Matthew Williamson both of Gibson; his mother, Sara "Petey" Baker of Wadesboro; his brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Chrystal Williamson of Wadesboro; his nephews, Noah Williamson and Daniel Williamson both of Wadesboro and Jonathan and Matthew's mother, Melinda Grice of Gibson.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Will and Marion Clark Williamson; his paternal grandparents, John and Lily Dawkins Caudle and his father of the heart, Edward "Mushy" Baker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the American Heart Association, 128 S Tryon St #1588, Charlotte, NC 28202 or to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
