Willie Lewis "Jim" McLendon, Jr.

Ansonville - Mr. Willie Lewis McLendon, Jr., better known as “Big Jim” or “Tiny” depart this earthly life on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at his home in Ansonville, NC after a brief illness.

He was born March 14, 1946, in Anson County, NC and was a son of the late Willie Lewis McLendon, Sr. and the late Willie Bell Davis McLendon.

He attended West Asnonville School. As a young man, he worked with Buck Wheless Dairy Farm in Ansonville, NC and Wiscassett Mills in Albemarle, NC until his health declined. Lewis is best known for his love of gardening and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Lewis was a very genuine, kind and compassionate person.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Danny McLendon, Horace Alexander McLendon, Ricky Ricardo McLendon and Phyllis Watkins.
Those who will cherish forever memories of him are his sisters, Mrs. Linda Brown of the home, Mrs. Brenda (Louis) Lotharp of Marshville, NC, Mrs. Kathy Cash of Ansonville, NC and Mrs. Trumilla Burns of Norwood, NC; his brother, Roger (Linda) McLendon of Ansonville, NC; his sister-in-law, Shirley Rose McLendon of Wadesboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, October 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro.

Visitation is 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday prior to the service.
